Les Boukakes: album "Bledi"

Les Boukakes stand for music created in exile – for the perfect symbiosis of orient and occident. The six musicians from Algeria, Tunisia and France, have created their own new style of music:  "rock 'n' raï" - a boiling mix of raï, gnawa, châabi, rock and electronics. Their band name itself is a reply to some of the less than friendly comments they received in their time performing on the streets of Montpellier, ”Boukake” being a phonetic mixture of two typical racist insults. When Les Boukakes released their second album "Bledi, they received international attention and thrilled thousands of fans at festivals all over Europe with their fantastic live performance.

Antonio Porto: album "Nômade"

Antonio Porto's debut album „Nômade“ is a musical travel diary that leads from Brazil via Austria to Africa and Israel. It reflects his experience as bass player of the Austrian world musician Hubert von Goisern with whom he went on tour to Egypt, Senegal and Burkina Faso as well as with the Israeli-Austrian singer Timna Brauer and their tour to Israel. In his compositions Antonio Porto traces back Afro-Brazilian pop to its roots in West Africa. His sentimental and at the same time groovy performance, together with his harmonious voice draw the pictures of his journey – from the mysterious Austrian mountains to the vastness of the Sahara.
